Reduces the cost of the Survey Module to zero, allowing you to equip any ship to explore anomalies. However, the size of the module is not reduced. Nor does it allow already built ships to use anomalies unless they are subsequently refitted.

Comments: It can be hard to get this Galactic Achievement before all anomalies are gone.

In fact it is not so hard on gigantic maps, moreover if you save/reload your game the effect wears off, you need to update/redo your survey ships each time. --Whismerhill 20:40, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

As the cost of each survey module (DL) is 45, logic dictates that it is not worth building this galactic achievement unless you intend to build at least 9 survey ships with it (45*9 = 405 > 400). However waiting for the guidebook to be completed may be a big time waster in terms of losing a headstart in sending survey ships out. --60.242.56.215 21:32, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

Notes[]

The name of this achievement may be a reference to the book "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" written by Douglas Adams. In the series to which that book belongs, there is also one by the title of "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe", after which the Restaurant of Eternity may be named.
