Post-invasion Baby Boom[]

I invaded two planets in my first game (played as Terrans) and both times the takeover caused an explosion in my influence level. My influence skyrocketed for one turn, then returned to normal. Probably related, the population of the planets I took over was out-of-whack for the first turn:

Pop overflow small

I believe this caused my influence to go through the roof (two spikes correspond to two invasions):

Influence surge small

The little numbers in the top left of the screen say 117,000 or so, so large that it dwarfs the rest of the graph. During these spikes the entire galaxy was blue (my border color) and all the other planets had red skull and cross bones above them. I think this might be some kind of revolution or unrest, but I don't know for sure. During one of these blooms, a system in a far corner of the galaxy flipped to me. It really wasn't deserved, I had no nearby planets or starbases. Ironically enough, thanks to that flip, I did end up winning by influence in the end.

Anybody else seen this? I feel like it's a bug. Taking over a planet may be a monumental achievement in the early part of the game, but this is ridiculous.

It's a bug. Fixed in 1.0X.2 which should be out soon - devteam

It'd probably help if you include which version of the game you're running. This looks like it may have been fixed by the final 1.0X version, as noted in the 1.0X change log.

Similarly, in one game I experienced the Korx empire split/spawn an Anti-Korx minor race. The whole galaxy was grey (Korx's color ) doing the same thing. All my planets were getting the skull and crossbones. The effect was a spike it did go away after a turn. Hope these spawns will get covered in the fix too. --Supreme Shogun 05:10, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Same thing happens to me, except the "Turn" button also disappears after I click it post-invasion. Running 1.0X.10. --Deviled Egg 06:51, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
