Mining starbases are used to extract galactic resources. Starbase modules can be added to a mining starbase to increase the efficiency of the mining. Some industrial technologies are required to unlock all of the mining starbase modules.
The resources that you can mine are:
- Green resources boosts economy
- Blue resources boosts influence
- Yellow resources boosts morale
- Purple resources boosts research
- Red resources boosts ship attack and defense
- Ascension resources get your towards the Ascension Victory condition.
You build a mining starbase by sending a ship with a constructor module to the resource. You can build starbase modules by attaching additional constructor ships. Like other starbases, armor and weapons can also be attached (and it's generally a good idea for obvious reasons).
