I really don't get the pricing. I can order the CD retail for £17.99 here http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=PC&title=836791&id=0&adudisc=y&who=&cpage=1&pa=prod&add=836791

or pay twice as much to download it with no box, manual, etc. Surely the downloads need to reflect the retail pricing.

In case the pricing didn't make it clear . . . we want you to buy the boxed version, because it supports our partners and ultimately means that more people get the game (because they stock it for longer and can offer it at a lower price due to volume). Obviously as prices continue to fall in the retail market, our prices will come down to match, but right now we can't undercut those vendors who are selling it at retail pricing. That would hurt them, it would hurt us, and ultimately it would hurt you guys when the next version wasn't widely available in stores because nobody bought it last time.
Incidentally, the metal boxed version that Paradox offers is very cool and nice to have. No cheap european knock-offs here.
If you want a cheaper download-only option then you could try TotalGaming.NET. You do pay more to start with, but you can get GalCiv II and another 5 token's-worth of game. Oh, and if it's costing you twice to get the download option, you need to get a better exchange rate! You should be able to get closer to $60 for £35.98. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 16:11, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
