The Bane of the Dred'nir, also known as the Orb of Dominion and the Orb of Draginol is a powerful Arnor artifact of immense power. It's the most powerful Precursor Orb ever created, the key to the Arnor's rise to power and the apotheosis of the Dark Mithrilar.

History[]
The Bane was originally created by the Dread Lords as a way to finally open a path to the stars for the Arnor, who had stagnated due to their slow development of technology brought upon by their long lifespans and the majority's inability to perceive time.
Originally known as the Orb of Dominion, the Dread Lords sacrificed most of their Arnor kin to feed their lifeforce to it, which started a devastating war that brought ruin to their homeworld, Arnor. This harvest was secretly spurred by their creator Draginol, who believed that the only way for the Arnor to truly flourish was for them to understand the concept of mortality.The Dread Lords lost control of the Orb when Draginol turned against his firstborn and banished him from Arnor for his fall into evil and insanity, when he tried to murder Amandara.
With the Bane's power, the Arnor defeated the Dread Lords and rebuilt their world. Eventually, once he felt the Orb had absorbed enough essence for his plans, Draginol took the Bane for himself and tried to use it to take control of the Telenanth. His plan failed disastrously and shattered the crystal, along with three of the other Mithrilar and created a pocket universe. The explosion hurled Draginol and the Bane across time and space all the way to the newly born world of Altaria, where they remained in slumber for millions of years.
