The Xendar were the first enemy the Terran Alliance faced. A race of malevolent arachnids uplifted by the Drengin, in 2215 the Xendar attacked Terran space indiscriminately and destroyed the major colony of Haven with an early version of the Spore Weapon. The Terrans, outraged by the monstrous savagery of the Xendar, went to total war with them. By the end of it, the Xendar were nearly wiped out, their homeworld stripped of life.
In truth, the Xendar had been manipulated by their masters, used as disposable tools to deal with foes in ways even the Drengin found repulsive, for as much as they advocate for control and war, the Drengin prefer to keep their foes and slaves alive. Once they ceased to be useful, Kona disposed of them with a false offering of peace to the Terrans, a device that was meant to defuse their bioweapons but instead cleansed the toxin-filled atmosphere of Xendar. Unfortunately for the Xendar, those toxins were vital to their physiology and were unable to breathe the now-clean air of their homeworld.
For more than a century, remnants of the surviving Xendar have wandered the stars in search of a new home... Until now. In recent times, a large group of Xendar have claimed a world for themselves, eyes full of vengeance towards Terran and Drengin alike.
